Morning traffic is in chaos. A giant pepper mill, made from oil drums, is blocking Frederikssundsvej, one of Copenhagen’s main arteries. Florist Tobias is convinced it must be for him—it is, after all, his 30th birthday today, and in Denmark, a giant pepper mill is a traditional gift for those who reach that age unmarried. But neither his employer nor any of his three closest friends have arranged for a pepper mill in his honour. In fact, they had almost forgotten his birthday altogether. Because friends grow up, start families of their own—and suddenly, you find yourself alone in life.
