Based on the New York Times best-selling graphic novel by Sydney Padua, this is the concert version of the comedic new work. It centers on scientists Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage, the real-life unsung inventors of the first computer, fighting crime in alternate universes with their new invention

Following our highly acclaimed production last year of Britten’s Curlew River, Enigma Chamber Opera bring you another of the church parables: The Prodigal Son.

In this entirely new staging of the piece, we uncover themes of family relationships, division and reconciliation, and the part we all should seek to play in our communities. Last year’s Curlew River taught us that, even in the toughest times, we will find comfort. ‘The Prodigal Son’ shows us how we should be that comfort for those around us.

The Prodigal Son

After decades of obscurity, a composer and Holocaust victim is getting his due.  Marcel Tyberg (1893-1944) lived in Abbazio, Italy in the mid-20th century. He was known in the community for the compositions he wrote for local dance bands and for his prowess as a teacher. But his true passion was composing classical music. When his teaching and his commercial work were finished, he’d turn his attention to his beloved symphonies, sonatas, and trios.
