Den Fynske Opera's first own production in the 2024/25 season is this newly composed intimate opera based on philosopher Jean Paul Sartre's famous play 'Huis Clos' ('Closed doors'). The work tells about modern man's encounter with isolation and the need to reflect in other people. The opera is composed by Niels Marthinsen and directed by Tine Topsøe.

Two operas, two languages, two musical expressions in one evening! For the first time, the two very different operas 'Erwartung' by Arnold Schönberg and 'The Telephone' by Giancarlo Menotti are performed in extension and connection with each other as one unified work.

Den Fynske Opera performs the catchy but overlooked opera 'Giulietta e Romeo', which was composed by the Italian composer Nicola Vaccaj in 1825. The opera thus has its 200th anniversary, and also its Danish premiere when it is performed at Den Fynske Opera in 2025.
