Roundabout Theatre Company proudly presents "Home," a Tony Award-nominated play described by The New York Times as an uplifting folk ballad about the pure in heart. Originally staged by the Negro Ensemble Company in 1979 and featured in the first year of Roundabout’s Refocus Project, Samm-Art Williams’ "Home" is a muscular and melodic coming-of-age story. The narrative follows Cephus Miles, who has the whole world in his callused hands until his sweetheart Pattie Mae goes off to college and marries another man. This poignant story gives voice to the unbreakable spirit of all Americans searching for a place to belong.

A Black sergeant is murdered and a series of interrogations triggers a gripping barrage of questions about sacrifice, service, and identity in America. Broadway’s Norm Lewis leads a powerhouse cast in the show Variety calls “a knock-your-socks-off-drama," directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon.

Lincoln Center Theater's good friend, the extraordinary Audra McDonald, will be back on Broadway this fall starring in Adrienne Kennedy’s OHIO STATE MURDERS, directed by Kenny Leon. Last seen on our stages in Henry IV, Marie Christine, and of course, Carousel (for which she won the first of her six Tony Awards), Audra will now inaugurate the newly renovated and renamed James Earl Jones Theatre (formerly the Cort) with this production.
