Symphony of the Holocaust is a documentary film on the life of master violinist and Holocaust survivor Shony Alex Braun, who transformed his experience in Nazi death camps into the Symphony of the Holocaust, a haunting yet hopeful musical testament to the millions of Jews — including his family — murdered by the Nazis during World War II.

Symphony of the Holocaust: Screening at Temple Ramat Zion

The moving documentary Symphony of the Holocaust will screen at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, as a part of the university’s 47th annual Holocaust Memorial Lecture Series.  The screening will be followed by a live performance of the symphony by the Vanderbilt student orchestra conducted by Dr. Noreen Green, with Adam Millstein as solo violinist, and a panel discussion on the music of the Holocaust.

The moving documentary Symphony of the Holocaust screened at Temple Etz Chaim in Thousand Oaks, CA on September 15, 2024 at 7pm. The screening was followed by a live performance conducted by Dr. Noreen Green, and a Q&A with Producer/Director Greg DeHart, Dr. Green, and family members of featured composer Shony Alex Braun. The concert featured Jonathan Rubin, a violinist who performs on one of Braun’s very own violins.
