People have been producing and performing in The Tempest for over 400 years. This is a story about revenge, shipwrecks, magical spirits, young love, conniving brothers, forgiveness, redemption and change. Set on a remote and magical island where seemingly anything can happen and which is full of “sounds and sweet airs that give delight and hurt not,” this is one of Shakespeare’s most mature and deeply felt works. It features monsters and drunken clowns and contains language both silly and lyrical. Our production will feature magic and live music and will focus on making the text accessible to all audiences.

Set in New York City in the early 21st century, Adam Gwon’s charming four-person musical follows an aspiring artist, an ambitious grad student, and a young couple in love who are all trying to find the answers to life’s questions: What is my “big picture?” Why can’t I let things go? Where am I going and how will I get there? Why can’t life be more like art? Our production will embrace the little things, reminding us that we are all pieces of a much bigger story than we might have first imagined.
