Sergeant Don José's world is turned upside down when he meets the seductive Carmen: Entranced by her passion, he falls head over heels in love with the fascinating woman. As quickly as he leaves his fiancée Micaëla, he also forgets his righteous duty as a soldier and moves into the mountains of Spain with Carmen's band of smugglers.
