Sir John Falstaff is a man who wants it all: money, power, women, pleasure – and control. But in Giuseppe Verdi's opera, it is the women who call the shots. Alice Ford, Meg Page and Mrs Quickly confront Falstaff's audacity with wit and ingenuity, challenging an order that tries to force them into rigid roles and monotonous dreariness.

On this night, she relives her journey: how she secretly slipped into her mother's clothes as a teenager with a little color in her face, how she kept her true identity hidden for a long time and started a family with two sons; how she eventually made the courageous decision to reveal herself and how those around her and her family reacted to it.
