Pianist

Slávka Zámečníková has been wowing audiences and the press in recent years with her »crystal clear, luminous voice«: this Slovakian soprano became one of the world's shooting-stars after winning prizes at leading competitions (including Neue Stimmen in Gütersloh) and making her debuts at the Vienna and Berlin state operas, the Opéra national de Paris and San Francisco Opera. She enjoys a close relationship with the Vienna State Opera, where she thrilled audiences with roles including Norina (Don Pasquale), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Micaëla (Carmen), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and was nominated for Austria's Theatre Prize for her portrayal of the title role in Monteverdi's L’incoronazione di Poppea. Recent concert work has taken her to venues including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Philharmonie de Paris, Rheingau Musik Festival and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. This young singer, and passionate Lieder singer, is looking forward to making her debut at Oper Frankfurt in this recital, and so are we!

For more than six decades, the chamber concerts by musicians from the Staatskapelle have been a constant feature of the Staatsoper programme. This season, ensembles have come together to select music from different periods, styles and cultures under the theme of ‘playing together’. On eleven dates in the Apollosaal, which with its special atmosphere is an ideal venue for chamber music and communicative interaction between players and listeners, works from the Baroque to the present day will be performed in constellations that are both exciting and harmonious, in which tangible contrasts play just as important a role as a common resonance and the balancing of opposites.

Apollosaal

The extensive concert program presents itself with dazzling diversity and a variety of formats. The Zurich Opera Orchestra, in full force, will perform in seven Philharmonic Concerts, alternating between the Opera House and the Tonhalle. Internationally renowned soloists and guest conductors will dedicate themselves to major works from Beethoven to Strauss, as well as fascinating discoveries from the concert repertoire. A special highlight is the Prokofiev Cycle, created in collaboration with the Tonhalle Orchestra.
