Join the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra for a captivating evening as we celebrate 40 seasons with our esteemed concertmaster, Michael Swan. The night will feature a stunning performance of Henri Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No.1, Op.14, with Michael Swan taking center stage. 

Under the baton of conductor Evan Mitchell, the orchestra and choir will also present Christopher Tin’s evocative choral work, *The Lost Birds*. This piece is a sweeping and elegiac tribute to the once abundant flocks that filled our skies, whose songs have now been silenced.

The Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Wind Symphony team up to present the annual Halloween Concert in Dinkelspiel Auditorium with a dramatic program of repertoire appropriate for spooky season.

Don't forget to wear your costume! Following the second half of the program, there will be a contest with the winner taking the stage to conduct the evening's final selection.

A concert in memory of Kenneth Brown and for the benefit of the Ken Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund, with special guests Angel City Chorale, Artistic Director Sue Fink, composer and conductor Christopher Tin, and soloist Reverend Donald Paredes. Includes the world premiere of Psalm 91, a work composed by Charles Dickerson for all those who sustained loss during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The prolific British vocal ensemble VOCES8 champions a sense of care and clarity in their performances that has garnered them global acclaim. In this world premiere of a new work by Stanford alum and two-time Grammy–winning composer Christopher Tin, VOCES8 explores the ecological perils of extinction through elegy. Sweeping and plaintive, The Lost Birds is a haunting memorial to bird species driven to extinction by humankind and a warning about our own tenuous existence on the planet.

The Interlochen Arts Academy Choir and Wind Symphony unite for a performance of Christopher Tin’s viral piece Waloyo Yamoni. An inspiring setting of a Lango rain-making prayer from East Africa, Waloyo Yamoni(“we overcome the wind”) fuses classical and non-Western musical traditions in a sweeping work for choir, wind symphony, and vocal soloists.
