Barrington Stage Company is thrilled to present the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical, "Next to Normal," as part of its 2024 season lineup. This vibrant musical revival, directed by Alan Paul and co-produced with Round House Theatre, is set to captivate audiences from August 13 to September 8 at the Boyd-Quinson Stage.

"Next to Normal" features music by Tom Kitt, with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, and choreography by Eamon Foley. Alan Paul's production has been lauded by The Washington Post as "impeccable," bringing to life the musical's exploration of a family's struggle with the past and the challenges of suburban life through innovative live video and multimedia. This all-new production promises an intimate yet epic portrayal of the psychology and inner lives of its six characters.

This 1 hour and 15-minute moderated panel discussion will delve into modern mental health practices and how they relate to the themes of "Next to Normal." The panel will feature the musical's director, Alan Paul, alongside experts from The Brien Center, Austen Riggs, and Canyon Ranch, offering a comprehensive exploration of mental health perspectives.
