During the last four decades the music in computer and video games have not only found its own unique sound, but has also gathered a big and dedicated audience since the first ever game music concert was held in Tokyo 1987. The Swedish Radio Symphony orchestra with conductor Alexander Hanson, soprano Sabina Zweiacker and host Orvar Säfström, invites you for a concert with highlights from the magical world of video game music.

The Mobile Symphony’s popular <strong>Beethoven and Blue Jeans casual concert </strong>is back with Beethoven’s heroic Symphony No. 3, <em>Eroica! </em>Beethoven became deeply disillusioned with his hero Napoleon, for whom he wrote his third symphony. But our concert is right on target with heroic young violin virtuoso Paul Huang, recipient of a prestigious 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a 2017 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists. The concert also includes a world premiere of Austin Wintory’s latest work. The audience is encouraged to dress casually, since even the orchestra will be in jeans and t-shirts. So, dress down and leave uplifted!

Eroica

We’re just warming up! Banish the winter chill with Korngold’s lush Violin Concerto and the rich musical landscapes of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1. Featuring works by some of the Romantic Era’s best known composers: Wagner, Korngold, and Tchaikovsky.

Winter Romance

Our American Masters series continues with the best of the best. The Mobile Symphony presents greatest hits from Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber – plus two extremely gifted living composers, Christopher Rouse and Austin Wintory. Soprano soloist Julia Bullock is a superstar in the making, increasingly in demand throughout the country and around the world.
