In 2023, Raphaela Gromes released a CD with only works by female composers: Femmes . Now, together with pianist Julian Riem, she is adding the male side. Beethoven's variations on Mozart's Bei Männer, Welche Liebe Gefühl , testify to the attraction between the poles. The cello sonata by Marie Helene Liebmann, born in Berlin in 1795, is also about love: the emotional piece was written around the time of her marriage, and the final movement is a variation of the great seduction duet by Mozart's womanizer Don Giovanni with Zerlina: La ci darem la mano . The combination of Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms in the second part of the program speaks for itself - even though Clara dedicated her three romances to the violinist Joseph Joachim and even though Brahms' passionately mournful second cello sonata deals with the rejection by the alto Helene Spieß. Johannes Wiedenhofer, who despite his youth is already celebrated in the first classical league (BR Symphony Orchestra under Simon Rattle), sets a contemporary accent
