Today it is a matter of course, 300 years ago it was a rarity: women in research and science. This musical reading with historian Dagmar Freist is about female scholarship, music and literature in the French salon culture of the 18th century. She reads texts by Émelie du Châtelet, a close confidante of Voltaire and one of the most famous scientists and mathematicians of her time. Simone Nill (recorder) and a string quartet with Ines Huke-Siegler and Bettina Blum (baroque violins), Annette Stoodt (baroque viola) and Benjamin Stiehl (baroque cello) as well as harpsichordist Torsten Johann play works by Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, André Chéron, Georg Philipp Telemann, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier and others on baroque instruments.

The Speech of Happiness

The Little Prince opens up a philosophical world with his seemingly simple questions. The Fidis Quartet and Claudia Spörri from the puppet theater "Mensch, Puppe!" tell Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's story with music and theater—a unique experience for all the senses.
