Under the Italian sun: Every year the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra heads south, more precisely to Montepulciano - a picturesque little town near Siena. At the local Academy of Music and Performing Arts, the musicians study selected chamber music works, which are then presented to the Duisburg audience after returning home: the result of a concentrated rehearsal phase in a unique environment, made possible by the generous support of the Friends and Sponsors of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra. With Hugo Wolf's "Italian Serenade", a work is on the program this time that couldn't be more fitting. Complemented by string quartets by Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
