Can looking to the stars save humanity on a destroyed Earth? Can the savior of humanity still be a bad father? In Christopher Nolan's 2014 film epic "Interstellar", humanity searches for its future in the infinite expanse of space. The Earth is destroyed and can no longer produce the food that billions of people need to survive. But the search for new lands demands personal sacrifices. And it is rarely altruistic. When the former fighter pilot and adventurer Cooper sets out on an interstellar search for the future, he simultaneously makes a decision against his nine-year-old daughter, who has been waiting for him for decades. Nolan's film also tells us that time passes at different speeds, but the past can never be undone.
