Entre Amigos is a creative collaboration featuring award-winning Chicago-based musicians Roy McGrath (Sax), Gustavo Cortiñas (Drums), Hana Fujisaki (piano), and Kitt Lyles (Bass). The group draws on more than a decade of rich musical friendship to create honest and exciting sonic experiences. Paris Mivr called it “ “a Chicago-based group featuring rising stars brings forth the art of collaborative writing and performance.” Jazz de la Plena describes it as a “group marked by the ebullience of each member’s contribution and the dazzling display of the whole that exceeds even the unparalleled majesty of its constituent parts.”

To mark the historical breakthrough that, more than a century ago, on December 1 1918, brought all Romanian provinces together in one, unified state, join us for an evening of exceptional music featuring Taraf de Chicago, a multinational ensemble fronted by Romanian-American singer and visual artist Ana Everling, best known for their original arrangements that invest singalong Romanian folk melodies with American tonalities to create an electrifying musical melting pot. Formed in Chicago in 2019, Taraf de Chicago sprang out of Ana Everling's love for Romanian folklore - carols, merry songs, wedding laments, doinas, dance music, children tunes, infused with tales, riddles, proverbs and old sayings predominantly from Ana's homeland - Bessarabia. While the basic scores are Romanian melodies, the instrumentation brings a strong American influence, replacing the traditional cimbalom with the banjo, the accordion with the piano and electric guitar, and adding instruments like clarinet, saxophone or various percussion instruments.
