Adapted from Nikolai Erdman's 1928 play The Suicide, the musical reimagines the material for a contemporary audience. Semyon, an unemployed dreamer under Stalin's rule, imagines a better life as a tuba player but comes to believe a spectacular exit from life may be his only ticket to fame and glory. Aristarch, a revolutionary firebrand with less than pure motives, sees an opportunity in Semyon's potential demise and seizes it to spark a rebellion against the Communist regime.

Award winning chanteuse, Christine Bovill has built her reputation on the massively successful sell-out show, PIAF.

In “Christine Bovill’s PARIS”, she beckons you back to the Golden Age of French Song; a demi-monde of heroes and outcasts, cynics and bruised romantics. With drama, pathos and pizzazz, the show casts a sepia-tinged spotlight on the songs and stories of Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Barbara, Juliet Greco, Charles Aznavour and more…

Celebrating some of the greatest hits of the 20th century in both English and French, the show includes My Way, What Now My Love, Autumn Leaves, La Vie En Rose, Let It Be Me, No Regrets, She, Amsterdam…

Come and be transported into a Parisian scented twilight world of song.

Known as "one of Europe's finest interpreters of French song," Bovill shares her journey from a young Glasgow girl, initially indifferent to French, to discovering Piaf’s Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. This self-penned work intertwines her personal story with Piaf’s, exploring passion, pain, and those unforgettable songs.

This is not a tribute show! Christine Bovill established her reputation as one of Europe’s finest interpreters of French song with her smash-hit Piaf. She now returns with a revised version of the show and looks back on her remarkable journey with a fresh take on this self-penned work. At the heart of the story is a young Glasgow girl, reluctant in school French until she heard ‘that song’. Her journey is interwoven with Edith Piaf’s life and those incredible songs.
