Two years after selling out its Canadian premiere, King Gilgamesh (And the Man of the Wild) returns to the Soulpepper stage for a limited, three-week engagement.
 
This raucous Dora-winning production weaves together the world's oldest epic with a modern Toronto bromance between an American Jew and Iraqi Muslim… all scored by Ahmed Moneka’s 2025 Juno-nominated six-piece Arabic-jazz band. 
 
Created and performed by Ahmed Moneka and Jesse LaVercombe and directed by NYC-based Seth Bockley, this show has sold out runs and received critical praise here in Toronto, as well as Minneapolis, Halifax, Chicago and NYC.

Founded in 2011, Ventanas interweaves flamenco, Sephardic and Balkan music and dance, and their own original compositions. They have released three albums (2013, 2015, 2019) and have toured extensively throughout North America, including a sold-out show at the Skirball Centre in Los Angeles in 2019. They have been nominated for four Canadian Folk Music Awards, including Best Traditional Singer and Best Ensemble. The six-piece Toronto-based world music ensemble is fronted by Jewish-Indigenous  powerhouse vocalist and dancer Tamar Ilana, and features the city’s finest world musicians. They perform in over 20 languages such as Ladino, Spanish, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Hebrew, French, Romani and Arabic, drawing inspiration from today’s worldwide themes of migration and the questioning of one’s identity.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, TO Live and FabCollab present the 12th edition of the spectacular hit concert series, Women In Song. Vocalists and dancers are joined by the house band—beloved Toronto-based global music ensemble Ventanas—for a party, celebrating cultural traditions from Canada and around the world. Collaborating live on stage for one night only, the artists bring together disparate artistic practices in celebration of the incredible accomplishments of women around the world.
