We take a closer look at our featured composer, Antonin Dvořák, through his exciting Piano Quartet in E-flat major. We find out if this piece is really written for four pianos (quick hint: it isn't!). And we learn how Dvořák was not just inspired by music from where he was born but lots of other kinds of music too!

A relaxed performance curated for ages 3-6 exploring the theme of identity through the music of Antonín Dvořák!
Featuring host Rami Vamos and CMS Artists, this inclusive concert experience is adapted for neurodiverse audiences, including children with autism or other special needs. The performance is presented in a judgment-free environment, and is less formal and more supportive of sensory, communication, movement, and learning needs.

Do you remember the name Johannes Brahms? It turns out he was friends with our featured composer, Antonin Dvořák (pronounced DE-VOR-JAK)! In this fun and interactive program, we learn more about his friendship with Brahms and how Dvořák was inspired by the lively and dramatic music from where he was born!

CMS Kids: Who is Dvořák?

Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Shulamit Ran was in residence at Marlboro Music in 2018 and worked extensively on her music with these musicians in Vermont. Alternating between contemplation and ecstasy, Ran’s Moon Songs for soprano, flute, cello, and piano are at the center of this program, which includes Mozart’s Divertimento, a singular work that achieves “something special in the way of art, invention, and good spirits.”
