Anyone who loves music for organ and large brass ensemble will certainly not be disappointed by this programme. Sixteen musicians from the ranks of the Berliner Philharmoniker will be taking part when Richard Gowers takes to the organ. The young organist from London has become no stranger to Berlin since his Philharmonie debut almost two years ago. At that time, he performed with the Philharmonic brass players to great success, which soon gave rise to the wish to experience the 30-year-old once again in the Philharmonie. No sooner said than done.

In early summer 2026, members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Karajan-Akademie will be bringing music directly to Kreuzberg – with a total of six concerts, including two for the public. Since 2024, the Berliner Philharmoniker have been particularly active in this district through the youth culture initiative. In various locations, small, atmospheric concert moments are created that invite people to pause and bring joy.

Late Night Concert I: “Music from Five Centuries”

In this series, the Berliner Philharmoniker and guests spark enthusiasm for classical music and take a closer look at the art of composing. In moderated concerts, they demonstrate the sound colours of the instruments or show how nature can sound.  In our Queen of Christmas special with horn player Sarah Willis and her colleagues, it gets turbulent and enchanting – Sebastian Heindl provides support on the organ.
