At our youngSTAR Festival, Berlin’s school ensembles take over the stages of the Philharmonie Berlin for four days, performing in front of capacity audiences. Once again we invited school orchestras, jazz ensembles, rock and pop bands from Berlin to take part in our four-day festival.

Terminal Infinity is an immersive audiovisual performance installation. Using music, dance and lighting design, it addresses the transition of humans into an increasingly digital world, reflecting on the effects of technological progress on our environment and our identity.

This concert brings the Berliner Philharmoniker Ensembles’ Beethoven series to a close with two of the composer’s most popular chamber works: the “Gassenhauer Trio”, with its ingenious variations on a popular operatic hit, and his Septet in E-flat major. Both works combine melodic invention with wit and elegance. Béla Bartók’s Contrasts for violin, clarinet and piano offers a striking contrast, combining Hungarian dance rhythms, jazz influences  and Bartok’s distinctive musical language with dazzling assurance.
