After three years of jazz studies, pianist Simon Dluzewski graduates from the Royal Academy of Music.

In his thesis, Simon has composed new music for jazz piano trio + soprano saxophone with inspiration from Bulgarian choral music and the Greek rebetika tradition. The music will be premiered during the graduation concert on April 2 in Lilla Salen. With jazz as a starting point, Simon paints with a distinct and very personal tonal language. His music is rhythmically driven and plays with odd periods, time signature changes, and complex dynamics. Lyrical parts coexist with fast-paced sections in a music that, in its strong artistic focus, touches and lingers.

Welcome to Sebastian Jokela's graduation concert. In his final project, Sebastian has explored drummer Chris "Daddy" Dave's drumming in an attempt to embrace it. This evening, we will be treated to music where the interaction between bass and drums is at its best, along with beautiful melodies and harmonies from the rest of the ensemble!
