Musical mysteries, drinking songs, baroque party games, singing instrumentalists, cheerful polyphony, and candlelit rituals: Apollo's Cabinet is no ordinary baroque ensemble, and its programs extend far beyond historically informed performances. The musicians, who came together in 2018 at the Guildhall School of Music in London, aim to make early music accessible to everyone and more interactive. No sooner said than done: In its concerts, Apollo's Cabinet not only delights with first-class, profound baroque interpretations, but also combines them with texts, acting, dance, singing, and a wink of the eye. With original twists, an unparalleled drive, and guaranteed to be free of dust and boredom, Apollo's Cabinet takes the Bad Imnau audience on a journey back to the 18th century for the birthday celebration of King Frederick the Great.
