Join Longy faculty, students, and alumni in a community reading of Terry Riley’s In C and Daniel Bernard Roumain’s Longy-commissioned For the Living In C. These open-instrumentation pieces welcome “anything or anyone that makes sound…to participate in the music-making” (from the Composer’s Note in the score of For the Living In C). Orchestra concert featuring world premiere by Daniel Bernard Roumain, uplifting the experiences of Black Americans and inspired by the legacy and life of Solomon Northup. Orchestra also performs selections from Handel’s Water Music, favorite Pop songs, Patriotic fanfare, and sing-alongs.
