Join us for an exquisite afternoon of classical music as Geneva Lewis, the rapidly rising New Zealand-born violinist, graces the stage with her Washington Performing Arts debut recital. Accompanied by the talented Evren Ozel on piano, this performance promises to be a memorable journey through a carefully curated repertoire that celebrates the concept of home and the profound connections to our origins. The recital is set to take place on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the intimate setting of the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater.

Geneva Lewis, who made her solo debut at the tender age of 11 with the Pasadena POPS, has since garnered significant accolades, including the Grand Prize in the 2020 Concert Artists Guild Competition, a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant, and a Musical America Artist of the Month designation. Her choice of pieces for this recital spans a wide range of eras and geographies, featuring works by European icons such as Beethoven and Bartók, contemporary Turkish composer Fazil Say, and one of her homeland’s most noted composers, the late Douglas Lilburn.
