A Berliozian by temperament, Stéphanie d'Oustrac is one of those singers whose commitment to the text is absolute. A loyal member of the Orchestre National de France this season, since she sang Marguerite from  La Damnation de Faust three days earlier, she became a melodist for this Jubilee concert, with the  Summer Nights cycle  in a version for strings. Then it was the turn of pianist Guillaume Bellom to join the soloists of the National for the very festive  Septet  by  Saint-Saëns . The  perfect setting for the 90th anniversary.

The first Jubilee concert is met with a Berlioz wave, with La Damnation de Faust , neither quite an opera nor quite a symphony, but "dramatic legend," Hector B. tells us, and whose Hungarian March, Ballet des Sylphes and Course à l'abîme contribute to the miracle of infernal hybridization, never as effective as in concert. Finally, should we recall that Berlioz, once celebrated by Charles Munch and Leonard Bernstein, is like no other in the genes of the Orchestre National de France?
