When does a band achieve cult status? After around 20 years of existence and extensive networking throughout the city, Herrenmagazin has achieved cult status, at least in Hamburg – despite, or perhaps because of, a 10-year release hiatus. On their album "Du hast hier nichts verloren" (You Have Nothing to Lose Here), released in April 2025, the four-person band has evolved while remaining true to themselves: handcrafted indie rock, lots of guitar, a touch of punk, and lyrics with wit, depth, and a touch of rebellion.
