The Cleveland Orchestra returns to present an evening of classical wonders under the baton of Music Director Franz Welser-Möst. The world-renowned orchestra opens its performance with Oliver Knussen’s lively and colorful Cleveland Pictures, a work commissioned by The Cleveland Orchestra that saw its premiere in 2022. Violin master Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider also returns to play Bruch’s dreamy Violin Concerto, a timeless masterpiece filled with lush orchestration and technically demanding virtuosic challenges perfectly suited for a violinist of Szeps-Znaider’s caliber.

The Cleveland Orchestra’s Miami residency was launched in partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center in January 2007 during the Center’s inaugural season. Over the course of 15 seasons, The Cleveland Orchestra has served the Miami-Dade community with an array of musical presentations, including a series of subscription concerts, education programs, and community engagement activities. Since 2007, The Cleveland Orchestra has presented free daytime concerts and education programs to nearly 56,000 Miami-Dade County Public School District students — engaging with them through performances, coaching, mentorship opportunities, and special music programs. The Cleveland Orchestra’s Miami residency is supported through the generosity of music lovers from across Florida who believe in the power of great orchestral music for adults and young people alike. Each season of The Cleveland Orchestra’s Miami concerts is presented in partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

Piano soloist Gilles Vonsattel, guest artists, and members of the Grossman Ensemble take the stage under the baton of Stefan Asbury in a riveting performance of works by Oliver Knussen and Sir George Benjamin alongside the CCCC's first performance and Chicago premiere of a composition by founder and director Augusta Read Thomas. As part of the program, poet and novelist Rachel DeWoskin will read her poems "anthrosphere" and "arrhythmia," from her collection "absolute animal."
