Iranian piano virtuoso Arash Rokni brings us Beethoven's 1802 'Eroica' variations which have often been regarded as a sketch for the finale of his mighty eponymous symphony composed the following year. Between them Domenico and Alessandro Scarlatti composed more than 500 (!) keyboard sonatas which have thrilled audiences ever since. Brahms's early haunting Ballades and works by 20th century musical legends György Kurtág and Sofia Gubaidulina complete the programme.
