Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy winner, and AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree Marty Stuart, known for his timeless blend of traditional country, honky-tonk, and rockabilly, makes his debut #AtTheMartin with his legendary band, The Fabulous Superlatives, on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy-winner, and AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree Marty Stuart picks up where he left off on Altitude, his first new album in five years, exploring a cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters, misfits and angels, honky-tonk heroes and lonesome lovers. There’s a desert flare to the music here, a sweeping, spacious feel that conjures up wide-open horizons and endless stretches of two-lane highway, and the production is raw and cinematic to match, tipping its cap both to Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon as it balances jangle and twang in equal measure. While it would be easy for an artist as accomplished as Stuart to rest on his laurels, Altitude instead showcases the work of a searcher with an insatiable appetite for growth and reflection, one whose ambition, much like his keen wit and rich imagination, only seems to grow with each and every release.

Marty Stuart, the iconic country artist, has released his new album, “Altitude,” recorded in Nashville with The Fabulous Superlatives. The album embodies a cosmic country landscape with a desert flair, offering a blend of jangle and twang. Stuart’s career spans over 40 years, during which he became a Country Music Hall of Famer, a five-time Grammy Award-winner, and an AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree. He is also known for preserving country music artifacts, with plans for a cultural center called The Congress of Country Music. “Altitude” is inspired by his 2018 tour with Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman and showcases a diverse mix of country and rock influences. The album’s emotional core shines through, with tracks like “The Angels Came Down” and the reflective title track.

Marty Stuart is a five-time GRAMMY-winner, Country Music Hall of Famer, platinum recording artist, Lifetime Achievement Award recipient from the Americana Music Association, Grand Ole Opry star, country music archivist, photographer, musician, and songwriter. Since starting out singing gospel as a child, Stuart has spent over four decades celebrating American roots music. His teenage years on tour with bluegrass legend Lester Flatt in the ’70s were followed by six years in Johnny Cash’s band in the ’80s, and a chart-topping tenure as a solo artist in the ’90s. Recently, The Country Music Association announced the induction of Marty Stuart into the Country Music Hall of Fame’s class of 2020 in the Modern Era Artist category.  In addition, Stuart is raising awareness for The Marty Stuart Congress of Country Music (MSCCM) in Philadelphia, Mississippi which will celebrate the rich cultural heritage of country music through live musical performance and educational programming. With all of that, it’s not nearly the sum of Marty Stuart’s extraordinary life and career.

“We thought the world needed a fresh instrumental album by a pretty good band,” Stuart laughs. “So we composed twenty instrumentals and took them to the microphones.” Space Junk sounds like country music’s preeminent band crash-landing on a Malibu beach and performing the most epic jam you’ve ever witnessed by starlight.
