Malinda is also a DJ on KRML Radio and a singer in the indie rock band Smoke Chaser.
- **Brad Hogarth, Associate Conductor:** A dynamic musician and educator, Brad Hogarth has conducted numerous prestigious ensembles and is passionate about musical outreach. He is the Associate Professor of Conducting at San Francisco State University and the music director of the Art Haus Collective and the San Francisco Civic Symphony.

Tonight we enjoy the stunningly beautiful Tallis Fantasia for strings as well as his powerful but little-heard Toward the Unknown Region, for chorus and orchestra – alongside music from Hungarian composer Miklós Rózsa, and the premiere of a new work for children’s voices and orchestra by Music Director & Conductor Gregory Vajda.

Sisters Fiona and Hina Khuong-Huu are a dazzling duo who, at just 16 and 18 years old, have performed around the world and brought home countless prestigious awards, from Hina’s 2023 Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition win to Fiona’s first prize at the 2017 Grumiaux Competition. While the New York City natives continue their studies at Juilliard (and Hina pursues a double degree at Columbia University), they perform together and as sought-after soloists, including at this year’s Bouchaine Young Artist concert.

California has been blessed with an abundance of great composers. The film industry has magnetized many European emigres to resettle in the Golden State. Composers Miklós Rósza (Hungary) and Alexandre Tansman (Poland) were both Jewish and escaped Europe as the Second World War was brewing. They both benefitted from work in Hollywood. John Williams and Danny Elfman are both prolific film composers. Los Angeles-born Viet Cuong, who now resides in Orange County, is Pacific Symphony’s composer-in-residence.
Enjoy delightful chamber music with host and pianist Orli Shaham and principal musicians of Pacific Symphony in the coffee-house atmosphere of the Samueli Theater.
