"SUGAR DADDY" is a no-holds-barred comedic performance that tells the true story of Sam Morrison's unexpected romance and subsequent heartbreak. Set in the gay paradise of Provincetown, Sam meets the love of his life, only to lose him to COVID-19. Through this devastating loss, Sam finds solace and healing in comedy, sharing his journey with audiences around the world. The show is a mix of big belly laughs, tender moments, and surprising twists, including a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.

Roundabout Theatre Company proudly presents "Home," a Tony Award-nominated play described by The New York Times as an uplifting folk ballad about the pure in heart. Originally staged by the Negro Ensemble Company in 1979 and featured in the first year of Roundabout’s Refocus Project, Samm-Art Williams’ "Home" is a muscular and melodic coming-of-age story. The narrative follows Cephus Miles, who has the whole world in his callused hands until his sweetheart Pattie Mae goes off to college and marries another man. This poignant story gives voice to the unbreakable spirit of all Americans searching for a place to belong.

This new adaptation for the stage from Karen Zacarías (Destiny of Desire, Native Gardens) is the kind of lush period production for which The Old Globe is renowned.

The first ever Mariachi opera, Cruzar la Cara de la Luna/To Cross the Face of the Moon, follows the two families of Laurentino, a Mexican man who has moved to the United States to work, even though that means leaving behind his wife Renata and son Rafael. Although he sends money home, and visits when he can, his choices have tragic consequences for his family left in Michoacán. Decades later, he lies dying. Now an elderly man, cared for by his American son Mark and granddaughter Diana, Laurentino questions the true meaning for him of ‘family’ and ‘home’ after a life straddling two cultures, a life in which he kept so many secrets from those he loved. Even as he draws his final breath, the two strands of his life finally come together in an emotional reunion, and Laurentino perhaps finds the answers he needs to rest peacefully.

The U.S./Mexico border isn’t the only obstacle dividing the Velásquez family. Cruzar la Cara de la Luna tells the story of a multigenerational Mexican American family separated by countries, cultures, and consequences in search of new possibilities. As their grandfather journeys back in time to reflect on his life in his final days, the members of the Velásquez family must make their own migration across land and through memory, searching their hearts to discover where they belong. Richly interwoven with mariachi tradition and a newly arranged orchestration, this modern story reminds us that family knows no borders.
