Mozart and da Ponte's masterpiece was titled "Dramma Giocoso" – a cheerful drama. A multi-layered subject, a piece to both chuckle and indignant. Don Giovanni, the famous myth of the seducer and womanizer Don Juan, is presented. He ultimately surpasses his arrogance and unsurpassable audacity at the grave of a victim of his machinations by inviting the statue of the deceased to a feast. A magnificent moment of musical theater.
