Conductor

At the age of 13, Marie-Ange was accepted to the prestigious Paris Conservatoire, where she studied under Nicholas Angelich. Since then, her musical journey has taken her to both Vienna and New York, where she has refined her talent as a pianist, conductor and musicologist.


This evening she interprets one of the most beloved works in the piano repertoire – Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. With its dramatic opening fanfare, lyrical beauty and virtuosity, it is a work that places great demands on the soloist, but also opens up for great emotional expressions. After the intermission, Mendelssohn’s majestic and uplifting Reformation Symphony takes over. The whole thing is conducted by Belgian Martijn Dendievel, who was already admitted to the Royal Conservatory in Brussels at the age of 14, where he received his bachelor’s degree in music theory. In 2021, he won the prestigious German Conducting Award.
