“I want to experience something for once, not just bat my eyelashes” is the motto of the strong-willed, karate-wielding Snow White in Elena Kats-Chernin and Susanne Felicitas Wolf’s powerful version. Supported by the life-size rabbit Richard III and 77 dwarves from the Graz Opera singing school, Snow White succeeds in taking her life into her own hands and escaping persecution by her deceitful stepmother. Lovingly encouraging fun for the whole family with a fast-paced musical mix of classical, musical and pop, cartoon film music and pop songs.

Elena Kats-Chernin’s opener is a high-tempo whirl, and Robin Haigh’s superb Grin, commissioned by Britten Sinfonia and winner of an Ivor Novello Award, brilliantly conveys 'brutality through frivolity', as light and cheerful music, with echoes of Richard Strauss, is run through a filter of dark 'millennial haze'.

"Never change a winning team" – not only a valid motto in sports, but also for one of the most popular concert formats of any festival summer: Mozart Night and Eberbach Monastery. Works by the great master Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed in the unique atmosphere of the monastery. The concept is as simple as it is proven: serenades, solo concerts, or symphonies in the cloister accompany chamber music performances in various rooms of the monastery complex, with the audience being able to choose where they would like to stroll and listen during the second part of the event. Here, the location and sound complement each other to create a unique concert experience.

Parallel to Le nozze di Figaro, the Piano Concerto No. 22 is a work that has exactly that character tone and which the Norwegian pianist Christian Ihle Hadland takes on: gripping and dance-like - and not banal for a second. Elena Kats-Chernin's Dance of the Paper Umbrellas opens the program just as light-footed as Mozart. Franz Schubert's 4th Symphony is nicknamed "Tragic", but takes the audience on a dramatic, musically stirring journey. Grażyna Bacewicz's fast-paced overture for orchestra sets the stage.
