"Spring will come on its own. You don't have to do anything."
Somewhere in a land in the far, cold north live two children who are together every day. They are inseparable. Gerda and Kay ice skate together, throw snowballs, and romp among the rose bushes. Their village is paradise on earth. Until one day the Snow Queen appears and kidnaps Kay to her ice palace. Soon no one believes Kay can be rescued anymore, but little Gerda doesn't give up. She puts on her red boots and sets out to find her best friend. Her journey takes her to an enchanted flower garden, a glittering golden palace, and the dark robber forest. But Kay is nowhere to be found. With the help of blue birds, reindeer, and wise women, Gerda finally reaches the ice palace and looks into the eyes of the Snow Queen!
"The Snow Queen" is a story about growing up, which is a difficult and sometimes lonely adventure. It requires perseverance, courage, and a loving heart.
