Due to the renovation of the Frankfurt Concert Hall, we are moving part of our chamber music series to the event hall of the Frankfurt Kleist Museum this season. This is a fitting opportunity for this Sunday matinee, as this museum will be opening the exhibition "Kleist and Music" in the fall of 2025. With this matinee, we are providing a piece of accompanying music to this show and to Kleist's era. The poet Heinrich von Kleist not only played the clarinet himself, but with Johann Baptist Vanhal and Iwan Müller, we have two of his contemporaries in the program. In Müller, we also have a clarinetist and composer who, as an instrument maker, made significant contributions to the further development of the clarinet.
