An intimate and self-deprecating monologue, at times as light-hearted as stand-up comedy yet profound at the same time. Much Pain for Nothing is the story of emotional dependence. On the empty stage, only a woman dressed in red and a microphone with a long cord. Amidst famous songs that echo love stereotypes, a list of boyfriends unfolds, the idea of ​​love at all costs, of an idyllic, fairytale world where one can find refuge from anguish and emptiness. Until every type of relationship, romantic or otherwise, is marked by the paralyzing fear of abandonment, and one slowly ends up caught in the grip of a toxic relationship. It's the chronicle of the struggle to grow, to break free from role models and to learn to respect oneself for who one is. But it's also the story of waking up, of the moment when one must open one's eyes to save oneself and finally listen to the emptiness that so terrifies us, discovering how rich it is.
