In We Never Learned to Swim , the debut musical theater performance by jazz trombonist and composer Nabou Claerhout , we follow the story of Sydney, played by Fade S. After the loss of a dear friend, Sydney ends up in a dark spiral. His search for meaning and recovery forms the common thread of this intense musical narrative. What does it mean to be left behind? And how do you find a way back when the world loses all color? Can you really die if you've never seen the sea?
