As part of the ninth edition of the impuls festival in Graz, new works by emerging composers will once again be premiered this year by Klangforum Wien.

After composers from 48 nations and five continents submitted their pieces to the impuls Composition Competition 2022/2023, a jury of musicians and composers (Paul Beckett, Franck Bedrossian, Clara Iannotta, Sarah Nemtsov and Anders Nyqvist) selected five winners in May 2023, who were subsequently commissioned to write a composition. These new pieces for ensemble can now be heard for the first time in Graz.
