The Company honors the centenary of Maria Tallchief’s birth with three Balanchine works created on the great ballerina. Tallchief danced in the 1952 premiere of Scotch Symphony, a romantic ballet in which Balanchine paid homage to the dramatic landscape and atmosphere of the Scottish Highlands.
