Bacharach's songs defined the music of a generation, creating the iconic sounds of the 60s, 70s and beyond with lyricist Hal David for some of the biggest recording artists of all time including Dionne Warwick, Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones and The Carpenters; his later collaborations with Elvis Costello introduced him to whole new generation of worldwide fans.
