A live performance of John Coltrane’s Africa/Brass is rarer than a total eclipse, but D.C. audiences have a chance to experience the mind-blowing album with legendary trumpeter Charles Tolliver as their adventurous, avant-garde guide. At this exclusive concert, Tolliver performs Coltrane’s music with acclaimed saxophonist Camille Thurman and Howard University’s dynamic vocal jazz ensemble Afro Blue.
