When Franz sets aside his beloved Swanhilda to pursue Coppélia, Swanhilda shows him his folly by dressing as the doll and pretending to make it come to life. Ultimately, Swanhilda saves Franz from an untimely end at the hands of inventor Dr. Coppélius.
