Arend lives in a telephone exchange. Day and night he connects hundreds of callers with each other and everything runs smoothly. He feels at home in this tangle of buttons and cables; he knows his way around here. Mistakes are not made. No, making mistakes… that is what Arend finds most horrible. He takes his work deadly seriously. Because what would happen if people were connected incorrectly? That would be downright disastrous.
