Beethoven's "Missa solemnis" was a heartfelt gift for his friend Archduke Rudolph of Austria. "May it go from the heart to the heart," Beethoven wrote at the beginning of the score. If you don't have time to compose a mass, you can go through the hoops and give concert tickets.
