More details
Schubert's Great C major Symphony: It was first performed posthumously in 1839 by none other than Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy - Robert Schumann had brought the score from Vienna - in the Gewandhaus Leipzig. Both composers wanted to make the genius and beauty of this symphony known. Mozart's Piano Concerto KV 467 with the famous Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, like Schubert's great symphony, pays homage to the key of C major, our harmonious home.
