Love and betrayal, death and forgiveness – Giuseppe Verdi's "Stiffelio" is full of drama. Too much for the censorship authorities, who banned the first version of the opera before its premiere in 1850. It was not until over 100 years later that the original scores, thought to be lost, were rediscovered in Naples. The audience can expect an exciting encounter with a rarely performed early work by the great Italian opera composer.
