This recital is a tribute to Clytus Gottwald. He arranged the music of the fin de siècle, piano songs and instrumental works, even entire symphony movements, and transformed them into sonorous works for a cappella choir. None of these composers would have dreamed of writing a cappella. Only Richard Strauss began to experiment with vocal music in 1888, at the height of his orchestral works. However, he soon gave up these attempts when he noticed that they were not being well received by choirs. Gottwald wanted to pick up this broken thread of vocal music and combined Richard Strauss's instrumental treatment of voices with a vocal technique that he had learned about in 1968 from György Ligeti's "Lux aeterna". "Delicacies" by Ravel, Berg and Mahler were the beginning, and today it has become a whole genre, with more than 100 transcriptions.
